Curriculum Intent

We are steadfast in our vision that the quality of education we deliver removes barriers, improves life chances, and supports equality. At the heart of our curriculum is the essential knowledge and skills pupils need to shape and realise their aspirations. The curriculum and wider experiences support our students in becoming well rounded individuals prepared for life beyond school who are able to uphold the values of act wisely, show kindness, help others, build community and embrace opportunities and experiences. As a school community we are working together to be exceptional in all that we do so that we “may have life, and have it to the full”. (John 10:10). This includes our curriculum which is:
- Broad and balanced and prepares students for life, and unlocks future pathways into further education, training and employment.
- Inclusive that that meets the needs of all pupils, ensuring appropriate support, stretch and challenge alongside supporting students to display kindness, empathy and respect.
- Well-sequenced and coherent and supports the progressive development and consolidation of interconnected knowledge through high quality teaching and learning, every lesson, every day.
- Engaging and inspires pupils to achieve their true potential whilst nurturing and promoting the courage to embrace opportunities and experiences.
- Empowers pupils to build community through becoming confident, proud, productive citizens who make a positive contribution to their local, national and global community.

- Long Term Plans: These documents provide a greater level of detail for parents and students about the topics that will be studied in each subject in each academic year.
- Subject Learning Journeys: These documents provide students and parents with an overview of key information about the topics and themes students learn within a subject across their 3 year Key Stage 3 learning journey and 5 years, should they continue to study the subject for GCSE at All Saints Church of England School.

Remote Learning
If a child is unable to attend school due to illness or an unexpected event, we will ensure that learning can continue from home. Appropriate work will be provided either in physical form or through our online learning programmes, with full instructions given at the time. This helps students stay on track with their studies and reduces the risk of falling behind during their absence.
Religious Education
Religious Education (RE) is a compulsory part of the school curriculum for all students up to the age of 18.
Parents and carers have the legal right to request that their child be withdrawn from parts of, or the entire RE curriculum, should they wish to do so. Before making a decision, we encourage parents to discuss any concerns or queries with us so we can provide further information about our approach to RE.
