Year 8 Religious Education - Monkey World Trip

Our Year 8 students enjoyed an educational visit to Monkey World, where they explored the rescue centre and attended an insightful talk on the ethics of zoos and rescue centres as part of their Animal Ethics topic in RE. Monkey World operates as a rescue centre with a zoo license, allowing public access while caring for over 250 primates.

Unless born in captivity or transferred from another zoo, all the primates have been rescued—many from the illegal trade of exotic species abroad and others from the legal pet trade in the UK. This trip gave students a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of animal welfare and ethical considerations in conservation.
