All Saints Church of England Academy

Our Commitment to Wellbeing at All Saints Academy

At All Saints Academy, the wellbeing, safety and personal development of every student are central to our ethos. We know that young people learn best when they feel supported, valued and understood, and we are committed to creating an environment where positive mental health is nurtured every day.
This year, we are excited to share that we are working towards the Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS)—a nationally recognised accreditation designed to help schools embed emotional wellbeing across all aspects of school life.

The award supports our belief that wellbeing is not an add‑on, but a core part of who we are and what we do.

What is the Wellbeing Award for Schools?

The Wellbeing Award for Schools is a structured framework that helps schools:

  • Place emotional wellbeing at the heart of school life
  • Strengthen existing systems of support
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers and external agencies
  • Involve students, families and staff in shaping wellbeing provision
  • Drive long‑term cultural change in attitudes and practices

Through the award process, we will reflect on our provision, celebrate what we already do well, and identify areas where we can grow even stronger.

 Our School's Commitment

As part of our journey toward the Wellbeing Award, All Saints Academy has created a clear Statement of Commitment which outlines our intention to:

  • Champion positive mental health for all students and staff
  • Ensure wellbeing sits at the centre of policy, practice and leadership
  • Strengthen early identification of needs and responsive support
  • Provide high‑quality staff training
  • Reduce stigma and promote open conversations about mental health
  • Involve students, families and staff in shaping the school’s wellbeing culture

This commitment reflects our belief that every individual deserves to feel safe, respected and supported.

What We Already Do to Support Wellbeing

Wellbeing has long been a priority at All Saints Academy. Some of the key features of our existing wellbeing provision include:

A Strong Pastoral System

Our Heads of House, Non-Teaching House Managers, tutors and pastoral team are available daily to guide, support and nurture students throughout their school journey.

Experienced Safeguarding and Wellbeing Staff

We have trained staff members who provide targeted support, coordinate interventions and ensure that students who need extra help receive it quickly and appropriately.

A Wellbeing‑Focused Curriculum

Through PSHE, tutor sessions, assemblies and enrichment activities, students explore themes such as resilience, relationships, mental health, online safety and personal development.

Our Wellbeing Award Action Plan

To guide our work, we have created a detailed Wellbeing Award Action Plan. This identifies our priorities, outlines the steps we will take and sets clear measures of success.

Parents and carers will be kept informed throughout the award process, and we will seek your feedback as an essential part of shaping our wellbeing provision.

How Parents and Students Can Get Involved

Throughout the award process, we will invite families and students to:

  • Complete wellbeing surveys
  • Take part in focus groups
  • Offer feedback on current provision
  • Suggest improvements and new ideas
  • Join us in celebrating progress and achievements

Your voice is vital in helping us build a culture where everyone thrives.

Looking Ahead

Our work toward the Wellbeing Award for Schools represents an exciting step forward in ensuring that wellbeing remains a central, visible and celebrated part of life at All Saints Academy.

We look forward to sharing our progress and continuing to work with students, families and our wider community to create a school where every individual feels supported, valued and empowered to succeed.
