Supporting Students
At All Saints Academy, we are proud to offer a wide range of support groups, programmes and facilities designed to help every student thrive both academically and personally. Our aim is to ensure that all young people feel safe, supported, and confident throughout their time with us. These provisions are available to all students whenever they need them, reflecting our commitment to a fully inclusive and nurturing school environment.
Together, these groups, programmes and facilities form a comprehensive support network that empowers our students to achieve their best, feel confident in themselves, and access help whenever they need it.

Wellbeing Team
At All Saints Academy, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of every student. Our Wellbeing Team works closely with staff, students, and families to ensure that young people have access to the right help at the right time. The team offers early support, wellbeing interventions, and a safe space for students to talk about their concerns, helping them develop resilience and positive coping strategies.
How Students Can Access Support
Students can access mental health and wellbeing support in a number of ways. They may be referred by their tutor, Year Team, or another member of staff, and students are also encouraged to self-advocate and ask for help if they are struggling. Parents and carers can contact the school if they feel their child would benefit from support. Depending on need, students may receive one‑to‑one sessions, group interventions, or drop‑in support.
Nurture
Nurture is a dedicated space located next to Hub Support. It is a small, invitation‑only Key Stage 3 intervention that takes place during Period 1, Monday to Thursday. The Nurture group focuses on developing pupils’ self‑esteem, social skills, communication, teamwork, and mindfulness, helping to set students up positively for the day ahead.
Nurture is managed by Mrs Llewellyn, Mrs Dring, Miss Naerger‑Skelton, and Miss Bushaway, who work closely with students to build confidence and emotional skills in a calm and supportive environment.
Listening Ear & Wellbeing Room
The Listening Ear is a safe and welcoming space where students can talk to staff about worries or personal challenges. While some students are invited to attend, the Listening Ear is also available as a drop‑in during the morning, breaktime, and lunchtime, ensuring that support is accessible whenever it is needed.
The adjoining Wellbeing Room is used both by our in‑school staff and by outside agencies, such as Social Workers and Link Workers, who may visit students to check on their wellbeing or offer additional support. This ensures that students have a private, comfortable environment for sensitive conversations.
The Wellbeing Room is managed by Mrs Llewellyn and Mrs Dring, who work closely with students to help them feel heard, supported, and safe.
HUB Support (SEND)
The Hub Support Room at All Saints is a dedicated calm and safe environment designed specifically to meet the needs of our SEND students. This space provides a supportive area that students can access throughout the school day to help them regulate, refocus, and engage positively in their learning.
The Hub is open and staffed from 08:00 to 15:30, ensuring consistent support is available. Within the space, students have access to a range of resources including computers, laptops, differentiated learning materials, set texts (including graphic novels), wobble stools and cushions, weighted blankets, sensory and fidget tools, and mindfulness activities. These resources are carefully selected to help reduce anxiety, support emotional regulation, and promote engagement in learning.
Hub Support is managed by Mrs Black and Mrs Sorin, who work closely with students to provide guidance, reassurance, and practical help.
Students with exit cards may access the Hub during lessons when they need a quiet moment or additional support. In addition, all students with SEND are welcome to use the Hub during break and lunch times, offering a safe and structured alternative to the busy school environment.
The Hub exists to ensure that every SEND student has a place where they feel understood, supported, and able to succeed.
Medical/ First Aid
If a pupil is taken ill or suffers an accidental injury at school, he / she will receive prompt attention as appropriate and one nominated contact will be advised as soon as possible, if necessary.
Various members of staff are able to support pupils with medical conditions during school hours. Pupils will be signposted to relevant staff depending on their need. Our First Aid Lead is Mr Harrop.
If a student is injured/unwell and/or needs to be collected from school, Mr Harrop or another member of staff will contact parents/carers. Pupils must not use their mobile phones to contact home if they feel unwell during the school day, but should go to Mr Harrop or their House team for support.
In emergencies it is vital that we can contact you quickly. You must keep us informed of any change to your details including mobile phone numbers.
In the event of an emergency requiring an ambulance we will advise the first available contact only (and a Social Worker if involved), who should then liaise with other contacts as necessary. Please ensure you register at least 3 contacts, even if they are not local to the area.
Existing & New Medical Conditions & Medications
It is most important that parents/carers inform us if their child has or develops a medical condition including problems with sight, hearing, allergies or anything else which may affect their attendance or performance at school. Medical information is treated in a confidential manner; please ensure that we have the correct details so that in an emergency the appropriate decisions can be made.
If your child has a serious injury or illness, including not being weight bearing, being in school on crutches, in splint or cast or with dressed wounds a risk assessment must be carried out with the child and parents/carers. Please contact Mr Harrop at Richard.Harrop@asa.weareauthentic.education to discuss your child’s medical needs.
Please do not send a child in on crutches or wearing any supports unless these have been prescribed by your GP or hospital staff for that specific injury.
If your child has an illness, such as diabetes, epilepsy, or allergies – please provide the NHS care plan so that we can provide the appropriate care. It is the responsibility of parents/carers to provide up to date care plans.
If your child is unable to do PE because of illness / injury please write a note to the PE department including the reason and timescale.
Regular medication can be stored in the medical room. A form must be completed and signed by parents/carers for any administration of medication in school. No medication will be provided without a signed form. All medication including inhalers must be clearly marked with the pupil’s name.
Children requiring tablets or other medication should take these and the form to the medical office for safekeeping. The container should be labelled with the name of the child, the dose to be taken and the name of the doctor.

If you have a worry about your learning, behaviour or attendance you should talk to your Head of House.
Girls Group
We are very fortunate to have the Dorset Youth Work Team working with us this year to support a small group of our young girls through our Girls’ Group programme. Since September, the team has been delivering sessions designed to build resilience, promote positivity, and empower students as they navigate the challenges of growing up.
Girls’ Group is a supportive, nurturing space aimed specifically at Year 10 girls, running once a week for eight weeks. During these sessions, students take part in activities and discussions that help them develop confidence, improve emotional wellbeing, strengthen friendships, and build practical strategies for managing stress and everyday pressures. The programme encourages students to recognise their strengths, set positive goals, and support one another in a safe and inclusive environment.
